Masters in Clinical Investigation Award

Congratulations to Dr Babatunde Ogunbosi!

(PATS MECOR 2010 Level 3)

Dr Babatunde Ogunbosi has been succesfully selected to begin a Masters in Clinical Investigation (MSCI) at the Northwestern University, Chicago from September 2011. Like Maxwell before him, Babatunde has also benefitted from funding by the Fogarty International Center at the National Institutes of Health.

On completion of the program, Babatunde is expecting to return to the Department of Paediatrics at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, Nigeria. He hopes to be able to use the training gained to further his research activities in the field of HIV/AIDS and other related activities, as well as fostering collaboration between participating institutions. Babatunde hopes that this will build research capacity in Africa in furtherance of the goals and ideals of the PATS MECOR program

Fogarty Fellowship Award 2010
Congratulations! to Dr. Maxwell Akanbi

Maxwell was awarded a Fogarty Fellowship under the Northwestern University AIDS International Training and Research Program (NU AITRP).  It will enable him to pursue a Masters in Clinical Investigation at the Northwestern University, Chicago from September 2010 to August 2011.

Funded by the Fogarty International Center (FIC) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The

NU AITRP implements interdisciplinary training to improve the overall capacity of Nigerian and Malian collaborators to conduct HIV/AIDS clinical and laboratory research with emphasis on the national priority areas.

By providing comprehensive training in epidemiological concepts and methods related to AIDS research, NU AITRP aims to increase the foreign scientists’ capacity to conduct epidemiological studies, clinical trials and prevention research.
