The Constitution of the Pan African Thoracic Society requires that elections take place every 4 years to choose members of the Executive Committee. In accordance with this requirement, we have now started the election process, and the first stage is to ask for nominations from members who wish to stand for election. The nomination period is now open, and members have until the 1st December to nominate themselves or another member to stand in the election.
The success of PATS in helping to facilitate positive solutions to the problems of respiratory health in Africa depends on the enthusiasm of its members and the effectiveness of its Executive Committee. All members are strongly encouraged to get involved with this election, either by standing as a candidate, encouraging another to stand, or by spreading the word to fellow health care professionals. This election is important, and it's your chance to influence the future direction of PATS, so please get involved.
